Getting Started with HE Remote for the My Blaster
Plug the My Blaster into a serial port.
Install HE Remote version 2.0
Right click the top left button on HE Remote for the menu
By default is says 'Cable'. If you want it to represent a different home entertainment device, like a Satellite receiver the click the "Change the 'Cable' buttons" text menu and enter the text you want in the input box.
Select the IR Transmitter menu and click the 'MyBlaster'
It will then search your serial port for the MyBlaster.
Right click on the 'Cable" button for the menu again and select the 'Open the MyBlaster Library'.
Then from the combo list box select 'Cable'.
Point the MyBlaster at your cable box and click the 'Start Search' button.
It will start sending power commands for different cable boxes.
When you box turns off or on click 'Stop Search'
It will probably go on to the next command before you stop the search so click the 'previous code' button a few times until it goes on or off again.
Then go over to HE Remote's buttons and test them.
If they work then click the 'Save' button.
If they don't work click the 'Start Search' again.
It will start searching from the begining so ignore it when it hits the code you tried before.
The code's number is displayed in HE Remote's text window.
You can manually learn all the buttons displayed by right clicking the 'Cable' Button
and clicking the 'Learn All the Buttons for 'Cable' from the menu.
Point your My Blaster at your Cable box and start clicking all the buttons to see if they all work.
If some work and others don't work, right click on a button that didn't work and click the 'Learn
the '???' button menu item and relearn that button.
You can learn individual buttons anytime by right clicking on the button and select the 'Learn the '???" button.
You just point your remote at the My Blaster and push the button on your remote. It is very good at learning codes.
You can add new buttons by right clicking on the lower portion of HE Remote and entering in the text you want on the button.
To add new Home Entertainment device to be controled by HE Remote by right clicking on the upper portion of HE Remote and entering in the text you want on the button.
Left click the new button.
HE Remote will reconfigure itself for the new device.
Right click on that new device buttton and select an IR Transmitter.
If that IR Transmitter is the My Blaster then repeat the instruction above replacing 'Cable' for the new device.
